Assessment Tomorrow and Entity Group have been working separately with Awarding, Professional and Certification Bodies in the UK for many years. That work has covered a wide range of topics from qualification development to quality and technology.
Quality, best practice, technology, PR and public perception are common themes in our discussions. But in this world of public perceptions and the threat of litigation, one theme appears more frequently on the radar than any other – the understanding of, and compliance to, regulatory expectations.
As a result this one day Seminar looked at the impact of changing regulatory and other pressures on Awarding Bodies, Professional Associations and other organisations responsible for professional and public qualifications.
A high profile panel of speakers was brought together. Speakers with experience and deep knowledge of all the areas of Regulation and Compliance from the statistical and educational base, to grading and awarding processes and their quality assurance, to the implications for staff training and development, to the impact on public perception and understanding of the Qualifications market and continuing professional development.
Calling upon Dr Michael Kingdon’s 25 years experience and expertise in the design, development, management and evaluation of professional qualifications, the seminar focussed on the challenge of responding to Regulation and external compliance. This is a key issue for the strategic and tactical development of all organisations developing and offering Qualifications and Examinations for professional and workplace development and a healthy attendance and lively debate followed.
